Course Objectives:

  • Define the goals of massage therapy
  • Identify the effects of massage therapy
  • List indications/contraindications for massage therapy
  • Practice ability to apply hands on application
  • Learn to incorporate massage into six stages of stroke recovery
  • Understand clinical implications of massage therapy for orthopedic clients
  • Identify billing codes for massage therapy

Clothing and Supplies:
Please wear comfortable clothes as participants will be moving around during the class. Students should wear a bathing suit, shorts, or aerobic workout wear under their clothing for their comfort level during the massage labs. In respect of participant’s privacy, students will be on tables with a sheet to cover them, and only the part of the body being massaged will be uncovered at a time. Also, please bring a set of twin sheets with a pillow case to be used on the massage tables. Students may also bring a hand towel to wipe off excess massage crème. Massage tables, cream, and education materials will be provided for this course.

Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be submitted with written notice and received 14 days prior to the course date. Cancellations by participants will be refunded less a $75.00 administration fee. There will be no refunds after 14 days prior to the course date. Fees may be applied to other courses within the calendar year. Dumas Therapy reserves the right to cancel a seminar and will refund in full the registration fee. Dumas Therapy is not responsible for non-refundable travel arrangements. No refunds will be issued if course is in progress and is interrupted by an act of war, God, or issue beyond our control. Dumas therapy reserves the right to change course date, location, or instructor.
